WHAT IS SO GOOD ABOUT HOME

out february 17th

A nouveau-blues exploration of the spectrums of personal pain and belonging, ‘What Is So Good About Home’ is the first single to be released from Maxim Vaga’s multi-media project ‘Through The Night’.

Set for a 17th of February release, ‘What is so Good About Home’ offers a music track and video filled with compelling visuals, soulful lyrics, and an invitation into Vaga’s ongoing narrative series ‘Through The Night’ — a mythological journey through the cycles of life, love, and personal freedom.

‘What is so Good About Home' and ‘Through The Night’ owe their cinematic inspirations to Maxim’s other loves —film and video. Having worked on movie and theater productions, Maxim met Patti Smith on the set of Christoph Schlingensief's The Animatograph, and she reminded him of his other great passion, music. Shortly after, he embarked on a long journey through Greece, where he started to write and perform his own songs.

This was followed by concerts in New York, Montreal, London, Paris, Amsterdam, Copenhagen and his hometown Berlin, as well as joint concerts with Marlon Williams, Rhonda, L.A. Salami and Wyvern Lingo.

Strongly influenced by the old blues legends and by singer-songwriters like Bob Dylan and Tom Waits Maxim Vaga always looks for inspiration from all the directions of the compass. He released his debut singles “Don’t Let Her Go” and “Farewell & Hello” in autumn 2019.

Thanks to the support of German artist funding program Initiative Musik and Pop Stipendium, Maxim Vaga is able to release ‘What Is So Good About Home’ independently via The Orchard.

‘Through The Night’ is due to be released in early 2024.
